Program of Centro Melantone for junior guest researchers – Junior Visiting Fellowship Program

As a center for evangelical ecumenical studies in Rome, Centro Melantone supports researchers who wish to work in Rome for a period of 2 – 12 months. Evangelical theology graduates and researchers who are working on a thesis with particular themes related to Rome are invited.

• Researchers hosted by Centro Melantone have the right to participate free of charge in all its events held during their stay in Rome. This includes the conventions, ecumenical encounters and visits around the city.

• A forum is offered for the presentation of research projects in line with the program “Theological academic year in Rome” of the Valdese Faculty.

• Upon request, the Valdese Faculty members ensure availability of their professors for consultancy services.

• Centro Melantone facilitates guidance to the university sector in Rome and helps with permits to enter the Roman libraries.

• Centro Melantone’s contacts are also useful.

Accommodations in Rome: the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Italy places at the disposal of students, a room in the boarding school or a mini-apartment. All the rooms are en suite, with telephone and internet. The rooms are practical and simply furnished. There is an excellent common kitchen. A washing and drying machine is also available for a small fee.

• In particular cases, there may also be a monthly rental fee of 100 €.

During your stay in Rome, you may be asked to take part as teacher according to the Centro Melantone’s program. After the stay in Rome, students are expected to make a report on the development of their undertakings. Centro Melantone will be mentioned in all the publications produced with the Center’s support.
