The Director of Studies provides counselling support for the studies at the universities in Rome. Participants often have the opportunity to reflect on and deepen their experiences. The Melanchthon Centre offers an accompanying programme for this purpose:
- At the beginning of the winter semester, there is an introduction to the Roman university landscape.
- Ecumenical study trips are organised at the beginning and end of the academic year.
- Each semester, a weekend seminar is organised that deals with a topic related to Rome.
- There is a monthly discussion group with candidates for the priesthood from the Collegium Germanicum et Hungaricum.
- Guided tours of Rome and excursions in the surrounding area as well as meetings with interesting personalities from the Church are offered.
- The programme includes a compulsory 4-week intensive language course in September. However, a basic knowledge of Italian is required before arriving in Rome.
